Children,
I want to be like them
even in my age.
Why?
Witness the sincerity
found in their
young eyes.
Not like us,
who keeps on
yelling our
insecurities.
Feel the
overwhelming aura
that pours out of them.
Not like us,
who are drained
and swarmed
by negative vibes –
stress, anxiety, and such.
Then that annoying
inquisitiveness,
how can
they think of those
things to come?
Yet, what catches
me the most?
The confidence they have.
They’re tiny pockets of
certainty. A soft drink
with bubbling soda
made of positive
enzymes.
Positiveness is common with them.
Sureness is their vocabulary.
I don’t know
where it came from.
From that age,
how could they walk
and act like
everything will fall into place
without doubting
and regretting
to the list of possible
worst outcomes.
How wild and free they are?
How reckless and careless
they could be?
How can they
be happy in the midst
of this chaotic
and unfair world?
How confident they are?
How certain they are?
How sure they are?
How to be like them?
I don’t know, the questions
will reproduce more
questions rather
than answers.
But, one is for sure,
even in my age right now,
I want to be like them,
children.
Children wield a powerful weapon – confidence – which we should seek and look for as we move to the next stages of our lives. One is for sure, we can find certitude by letting confidence flow from within us.
